Our co-founders, Yolanda and Myrthe, come from the professional face and body painting world, so the face painting community has always been a big part of where Palette Pals came from.
We already work with professional face painters through commission partnerships, wholesale and other collaborations, and we’d love to keep growing that community with us.

Palette Pals is made for beginners, but the experience behind it certainly isn’t.
Co-founder Yolanda Bartram has spent more than 20 years painting professionally around the world. She has won and judged at the World Bodypainting Championship in Austria, taught and showcased internationally, and worked across film, television, commercial productions and live events.
She is also CEO of BODYFX, New Zealand’s specialist bricks-and-mortar face paint and FX store, supporting everyone from professional artists and performers to schools, film productions and complete beginners.
Co-founder Myrthe Heydenrijk has been face painting since she was four and is now one of New Zealand’s leading face and body artists. Alongside her professional work, Myrthe has built an extensive library of educational content, a large online following and competed on the first season of Glow Up New Zealand.
She is also BODYFX’s Head MUA and Brand Manager.
Together, Yolanda and Myrthe are behind the designs, techniques and tutorials that make Palette Pals feel achievable for people who have never face painted before.
Our paints are cosmetic-grade, water-based, vegan, cruelty-free and fragrance-free, using ingredients compliant with FDA cosmetic regulations.
For us, making face painting approachable should never mean compromising on quality.
